Semiconductor Materials
Although the
discovery of semiconductors is relatively recent, there seems to be various
semiconductor types.
1. Elemental semiconductor (Single element)
Silicon,
germanium, selenium, carbon.
2. Compound semiconductor (intermetallic compound)
Gallium /
arsenic, gallium / phosphorus, nickel antimony, indium antimony, indium
arsenic.
3. Ceramics semiconductor
Utilizes the
semiconducting properties of non-oxide ceramics. In the first place,
imagine ceramics. Kneading the soil to make a shape and baking it in a furnace
to make a bowl (hard substance). Generally, it is a non-conductive
material that does not conduct electricity, but there are some non-conductive
materials.
4. Sulfide semiconductor (Sulfide)
Cadmium
sulfide, lead sulfide, cadmium selenium selenium.
5. Oxide semiconductor (Metal oxide)
Zinc oxide,
lead oxide, copper oxide, and thermostat
6. Tellurium compound semiconductor (Tellurium compound)
Cadmium
telluride, tin lead telluride
7. Organic compound semiconductor (Organic compound)
