Power Transmission in AC

Why Power Transmit in AC?
If you want to convert AC to DC in any device, you might think that a power company should supply DC power from the beginning. In fact, it would be convenient to be able to supply power from DC, but there are circumstances in which power cannot be supplied from DC. Electricity generated at the power plant is transmitted to consumption areas such as urban areas, but electricity causes a loss. To suppress this loss, high voltage (tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of V) is transmitted, but it cannot be used as it is because of the high voltage, and it must be transformed (stepped down). Since AC can perform this transformation more easily than DC, AC transmission is used.

For this reason, AC power transmission is currently the mainstream. However, DC power transmission has advantages such as a lower maximum voltage value and less reactive power than AC power transmission, and if technological innovation will facilitate DC transformation, the era of DC power transmission may come. ..
